About Dola Capital
Dola Capital is a value-investing firm run by Ferrucho Doddoli Lankenau, that primarily invests in public companies, with a focus on small-cap companies and special situations.
My primary goal is to preserve the firm’s capital and grow it at an attractive rate relative to the risk taken, over a long period of time.
I aim to achieve superior returns by buying undervalued companies that offer significant upside and downside protection through a margin of safety.
I look for these opportunities in places where other investors are not looking, such as such as small-cap or illiquid companies, spin-offs, and liquidations.
I prefer to own high-quality companies with substantial “economic moat”, that earn high returns on incremental capital. Nevertheless, I understand that these companies at an attractive price are very hard to find.
I believe that attractive investment opportunities can be found in other places too, which offer significant upside relative to the risk taken. Such as companies selling significantly below their tangible net asset value, as well as liquidations and spin-offs.
I follow a concentrated approach, which I believe makes me more selective, and helps me act only when a great idea comes.
“As a securities investor, you can watch all sorts of business propositions in the form of security prices thrown at you all the time.
For the most part, you don’t have to do anything other than be amused. Once in a while, you will find a ‘fat pitch’ that is slow, straight, and right in the middle of your sweet spot. Then you swing hard.
This way, no matter what natural ability you start with, you will substantially increase your hitting average.”

About Me
I am from and currently live in Monterrey, Mexico. I studied Computer Science at Tec de Monterrey.
I am very passionate about entrepreneurship, when I was sixteen years old I founded Dola, a footwear company, where I learned how to operate a business. For 3 years I designed, sourced, and marketed footwear; achieving sales of $30,000 during the whole period.
In 2019, I discovered value investing through Benjamin Graham’s Intelligent Investor. Since then, I have studied the lives of Buffet, Munger, and Mohnish Pabrai to become a better investor and person. I love analyzing and researching businesses and the connection that investing has to other disciplines like history, biology, psychology, economics, and mathematics.
